As Tony himself has said, "Most cuemakers aren't crazy enough to put this much work into a pool cue!"
When you pick up a Black Boar, you immediately know that you're holding much more than a sporting instrument, but a true masterpiece. Tony and Donnie pour over every detail of the construction process, from the careful selection of the raw materials, to the precision tolerances achieved in every component, even all the way down to the incredible attention to detail in the smallest inlays. The intense commitment to perfection that goes into each of our works has placed Black Boar in a league of its own - completely unmatched for nearly 40 years.

Black Boars are consistently known for being among the absolute finest cues available, and are made to order. The price range is a few tiers above other custom cues you may have seen available on the market, and for good reason. Black Boar cues stand alone when it comes to quality of materials and craftsmanship, and each cue is a unique work of art, actually increasing in value the moment it leaves the shop floor.
The cues displayed in the slideshow galleries of this website are examples of commissioned works. Out of respect for our clients' privacy, we do not discuss the exact details of the prices of these items.
If you are seeking to commission a new cue, you should contact us for an estimate. Please include a brief description of any preferred materials or themes, or if you prefer, simply choose a price point and allow us to build something commensurate.
Black Boar is always willing to give an appraisal of the replaceable value of your cue, and/or tell you if an aftermarket cue you are considering is worth the offering price and/or is authentic. Those inquiries can be sent via the contact form, and keep in mind we’ll need multiple, high quality photos of the cue to determine the details.
Tony and Donnie like to take the time to get to know their clients personally, so purchasing a custom Black Boar is truly a unique experience. For convenience, initial inquiries can be made through the contact form. Because we have limited time and resources, we ask that only serious buyers contact us about new commissions, please.
There is no waiting list to speak of, as Tony has never believed in them. Cues go into production the day that payment is received. The design and building process is typically complete within 10-12 weeks, though certain specialty cues or designs can take a bit longer. Tony and Donnie always stay in communication with clients throughout the process, although they do need to be left to concentrate on their work, and do not/cannot update their clients on every step of production.
Please contact us with (multiple, high quality) photos of the cue in question, and we will assist you to the best of our ability as soon as we have a moment to do so.
If you own a Black Boar cue and have questions about its value, history, and other details that require research, we offer certificates of authenticity.

Tony is open to doing refinishing work on Black Boar cues ONLY, but keep in mind, he may be particular about what projects he takes on. Refinishing work can often be more labor-intensive than building a cue from scratch, and Tony does not always have the time or resources to take on such projects. Priority for refinishing work will typically be reserved for clients who purchased their Boars directly from The Shop/Tony, rather than resold cues. All that being said, you can always send a message with photos of your Black Boar cue attached, as it never hurts to ask.
At times. First priority for the materials used to build shafts will always be reserved for new custom built cues. All Black Boar shafts are built for a 5/16 x 14 pin, no exceptions, and our grueling selection process for shaft wood means that they are often in short supply. However, we have always done our best to meet the needs of our clients by offering additional shafts whenever we can.
There are various forums, Facebook groups, and similar sites on the internet where Black Boar cues can be traded. However, Black Boar Industries is not affiliated with any of those groups or websites. If you'd like to purchase a certificate of authenticity to help with insuring or reselling a Black Boar cue, inquire here.
